In a statement delivered before the 61st session of the Human Rights Council, the United Arab Emirates reaffirmed its commitment to promoting and protecting human rights. H.E. Jamal Al Musharakh, UAE Ambassador and Permanent Representative in Geneva stated that the UAE continues to promote human rights, empower women, strengthen their leadership role and safeguard the rights of women, girls and children, while emphasising that human rights protection is a collective responsibility requiring multilateral action based on dialogue and mutual respect. Al Musharakh also noted that the UAE looks forward to its membership of the Human Rights Council for the 2028–2030 term.
