Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak "Mother of the Nation", Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, the UAE has launched the global SAFE-T Initiative to harness technology to advance digital safety and effective, sustainable participation.

The initiative is being implemented through a strategic partnership between the General Women’s Union (GWU), the Ministry of Justice, which provided support and seed funding, and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

The launch took place on the sidelines of the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice – Abu Dhabi 2026, in the presence of ministers, UN officials and representatives of judicial and legislative authorities and the public and private sectors.
